Construction is set to commence on the third and final stage of the Bli Bli Village Town Centre which will include the much anticipated $20 million Bli Bli Tavern project which will be operated by Sunshine Coast based hotelier Scott Armstrong in partnership with the owner of the iconic Story Bridge Hotel Richard Deery.
The Bli Bli Tavern will be the fourth local hospitality venue for the family owned Sunshine Coast Hotels Group which also includes the Baringa Tavern, Parklands Tavern as well as the Brightwater Tavern and The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast.
Mr Armstrong said he was pleased to have a start date for the Bli Bli Tavern project.
“The Tavern will occupy 2,350m2 of space over three levels of the five storey building and will include a drive through bottle shop on the ground level, as well as a gaming lounge with poker machines, TAB, keno and bar facilities on the middle level while the top level will be exclusively for the food and beverage offer including a large sports bar with TAB, bistro, function room, children’s room and deck bar with retractable roof.
“The Tavern complex will also include around 156 undercover car parks and eight one bedroom short term accommodation units on the fifth level of the building.
“Just like our other hotels, we see this venue as the ideal place for locals and their family and friends to enjoy a high quality meal at an affordable price while also offering gaming entertainment as well as a large function space which will cater for up to 140 people and will be ideal for meetings, parties, weddings and corporate events.
“The foundation of our business model is based around supporting locals so we will look forward to employing another 75 full and part time staff when we bring the Tavern to life in mid 2022.
“We love to engage with the local community and support local schools, community groups, charities and sporting clubs so that will be high on our agenda when we open,” Scott said.
Developer Michael White said the Bli Bli Tavern would be the third and final piece of the jigsaw for the $40 million Bli Bli Village development which has become an important facility for the growing Bli Bli community and neighbouring towns.
