Mini golf mecca kicks off with a bang as hundreds book in

By Brianne Mayne

The mini golf course at The Maroochy River Golf Club has officially opened.

MAROOCHY River Golf Club’s latest attraction has swung into gear as a popular Christmas party combo, with hundreds already booking out its new mini golf course.

The former Horton Park club unveiled an 18-hole mini golf course to turn the club into an entertainment “mecca” for all ages.

The landscaped course covers more than 2000sq m of rocks, shrubs, flowering plants, water features and with huge umbrellas spread throughout the course offering shade.

President Grant Kimmorley said the bookings gave him plenty of confidence they’d created something special.

“It was really good, we had quite a lot of people turn up and it was a really good atmosphere,” Mr Kimmorley said of Sunday’s opening.

“And so many people are booking out our food and golf packages for Christmas parties. ‘We’ve had hundreds of bookings.

“We opened at the perfect time, with school holidays and then Christmas, it’s been a good way to kick off.”
